ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 31 -- United States Patent no. PP37,188, issued on Dec. 30, was assigned to Walters Gardens Inc. (Zeeland, Mich.).

"Heucherella plant named 'Shadow Tag'" was invented by Hans A Hansen (Zeeland, Mich.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The new hybrid x Heucherella plant named 'Shadow Tag' with palmately-lobed leaves that are shallowly dissected into five to seven main. Foliage color is distinctly silvery-green and starts in the spring with burgundy surrounding the center veins. The flower effect is purplish-pink in moderately densely-branched panicles beginning in late May. The plant is useful for landscaping as a specimen color, en masse, or as a container plant."
