ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,374,060, issued on July 29, was assigned to WALMART APOLLO LLC (Bentonville, Ark.).

"System and method for detecting object collisions in augmented reality images" was invented by Arami Guerra de la Llera (Frisco, Texas), Anisha Alahari (Arlington, Va.), Daniel Hyunwoo Lee (Whittier, Calif.), Eugene Krivopaltsev (San Jose, Calif.), Sreeneel Maddika (San Ramon, Calif.) and Vijay Saradhi Yellapragada (San Ramon, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method can include capturing, in real-time via a camera, an image of a real environment. The method further can include determining, using the image, a primary plane in the real environment. ...
