US Patent Issued to VXK Products on Jan. 20 for "Fluid-repellant, antimicrobial fabrics and methods for making same" (South Carolina, Florida Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,527,372, issued on Jan. 20, was assigned to VXK Products LLC (Virginia Beach, Va.).

"Fluid-repellant, antimicrobial fabrics and methods for making same" was invented by Dawn Clarke (Pawleys Island, S.C.), Forrest Putnam (Chesnee, S.C.) and Ben Favret (Windermere, Fla.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In one embodiment, a fabric is treated by creating a treatment solution comprising a fluid repellant and an antimicrobial compound, creating a treatment foam from the treatment solution, and applying the treatment foam to only an outer side of a fabric so as to coat the outer side of the fabric with the fluid repellant and the antimicrobial co...
