ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,416,664, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to VueReal Inc. (Waterloo, Canada).

"Micro device arrangement in donor substrate" was invented by Gholamreza Chaji (Kitchener, Canada) and Ehsanollah Fathi (Waterloo, Canada).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "This disclosure is related to arranging micro devices in the donor substrate by either patterning or population so that there is no interfering with non-receiving pads and the non-interfering area in the donor substrate is maximized. This enables the transfer of micro devices to a receiver substrate with fewer steps."

The patent was filed on Dec. 27, 2023, under Application No. 18/398,124.
