ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,496,915, issued on Dec. 16, was assigned to VOLVO TRUCK Corp. (Gothenburg, Sweden).
"Vehicle fuel cell system" was invented by Carl Lowstedt (Onsala, Sweden), Johan Lindberg (Gothenburg, Sweden) and Fredrik Rahm (Horby, Sweden).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The fuel cell system includes a fuel cell arranged to receive ambient air at a cathode inlet, and a tank arrangement fluidly connectable to the cathode inlet. The fuel cell system is configured to supply oxygen based fluid from the tank arrangement when a toxic substance level of the ambient environment is above the predetermined threshold limit."
