"System and method for generating a planned path using a phantom vehicle" was invented by Shubhashree Venkatesh (Fremont, Calif.), Noe Brito (Cupertino, Calif.), Yee-Ning Cheng (Sunnyvale, Calif.), Madhav Chhura (Whittier, Calif.), Sebastian Dovenor (Pittsburgh), John Drake (Cranbury, N.J.), Jonathan Pan (Campbell, Calif.), Jason Parraga (Fremont, Calif.) and Scott Plant (San Jose, Calif.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods and systems that use a phantom vehicle to help generate a planned path for a real-world vehicle are described. ...
