ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,370,778, issued on July 29, was assigned to Vitro Automotive Holdings Corp. (Cheswick, Pa.).
"Automotive glazing for ADAS camera systems" was invented by Lauren Black (Apollo, Pa.), DeWitt Lampman (Allison Park, Pa.) and Robert George Sims (Clarkston, Mich.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An automotive glazing that provides a portal (32) for receiving infrared radiation and an automotive glazing (40, 50) that defines an open pathway for infrared radiation between an infrared camera on one side of the glazing and a camera field of view on the other side of the glazing."
