ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 18 -- United States Patent no. 12,325,635, issued on June 10, was assigned to Virginia Commonwealth University (Richmond, Va.).

"Metallic and magnetic carbon material" was invented by Puru Jena (Richmond, Va.), Hong Fang (Camden, N.J.) and Joel Therrien (Boston).
