ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,535,624, issued on Jan. 27, was assigned to VIAVI SOLUTIONS INC. (Chandler, Ariz.).
"Encapsulated diffuser" was invented by Tasso R. M. Sales (Rochester, N.Y.) and George Michael Morris (Victor, N.Y.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An optical device, such as a diffuser, can include a substrate; and a diffuser surface, in which the diffuser surface has an index of refraction greater than about 1.8. A method of making and using the optical device is also disclosed."
The patent was filed on May 5, 2022, under Application No. 17/737,198.
