ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,275,189, issued on April 15, was assigned to VELO3D INC. (Fremont, Calif.).

"Three-dimensional printing systems and methods of their use" was invented by Benyamin Buller (Cupertino, Calif.) and Zachary Ryan Murphree (San Jose, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure describes three-dimensional (3D) printing apparatuses, processes, software, and systems for producing high quality 3D objects. Described herein are printing apparatuses that facilitate control of energy beam characteristics using an optical mask during one or more printing operations."
