ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,233,127, issued on Feb. 25, was assigned to Vanderbilt University (Nashville, Tenn.).

"Human monoclonal antibodies to a new universal influenza a hemagglutinin head domain epitope" was invented by James E. Crowe Jr. (Nashville, Tenn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure is directed to antibodies binding previously undefined epitopes on influenza A virus hemagglutinin and methods for use thereof."

The patent was filed on Aug. 22, 2019, under Application No. 17/270,115.
