ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,329,167, issued on June 17, was assigned to VAMIX NV (Ghent, Belgium).

"Crispy pastry products" was invented by Eline Honore (Ghent, Belgium), Thomas Josse (Torce, France) and Roel Van Der Meulen (Ghent, Belgium).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to a process for producing a more crispy food product based on multi-layered laminated dough such as croissants and the like, to the tools for making such products and the food products prepared according to this process."
