ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 18 -- United States Patent no. 12,324,434, issued on June 10, was assigned to VALENT BIOSCIENCES LLC (Libertyville, Ill.).

"Methods to induce heat stress tolerance in plants" was invented by Frankin Paul Silverman (Highland Park, Ill.) and Srirama Krishna Reddy (Libertyville, Ill.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention is directed to methods of improving heat stress tolerance in plants comprising applying an effective amount of 1-amino-1-cyclopropanecarboxylic acid to the plant."

The patent was filed on Nov. 14, 2023, under Application No. 18/508,310.
