ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,343,849, issued on July 1, was assigned to UTILITY SOLUTIONS INC. (Hickory, N.C.).

"Utility probe with resilient fingers" was invented by Eugene H. Wood (Hickory, N.C.) and Thomas Beane (Hudson, N.C.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A utility probe for use with component is disclosed. The probe includes a body; a shaft extending from the body; and an array of resilient fingers extending from the shaft."

The patent was filed on April 24, 2023, under Application No. 18/305,562.
