US Patent Issued to USNR on July 29 for "Flitch tracking" (Canadian Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,370,713, issued on July 29, was assigned to USNR LLC (Woodland, Wash.).

"Flitch tracking" was invented by Paul W. Green (Parksville, Canada) and Dwayne Seawai Fujima (Parksville, Canada).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "In various embodiments, a scanner optimizer system may generate a virtual model of a predicted flitch based on a 3D model of a log/cant and a cut solution for the log/cant.
