ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,295,824, issued on May 13, was assigned to Uromedica Inc. (Plymouth, Minn.).

"Method and apparatus for fixation of implantable devices adjacent a body lumen" was invented by Timothy C. Cook (Wayzata, Minn.) and John H. Burton (Minnetonka, Minn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present application relates to method and apparatus for reducing migration and rotation of implantable devices including an expandable element and an elongate portion."
