ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 31 -- United States Patent no. 12,509,545, issued on Dec. 30, was assigned to Urethane Systems USA LLC (Perth Amboy, N.J.).

"Anhydride catalysts for urethane and urethane-urea systems" was invented by Johnathon A. Cribb (Meriden, Conn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Polyurethane and polyurethane-urea compositions are prepared by amine cure under catalyzed reaction conditions. The curing reaction is performed with an acid anhydride based curing catalyst which is added to a prepolymer and then subsequently reacted with an amine based curative."
