ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,479,779, issued on Nov. 25, was assigned to UOP LLC (Rosemont, Ill.).
"Steam integration in ethanol to jet fuel process" was invented by Saikrishna Laxmirajam Gosangari (Gurugram, India), Ashish Mathur (Gurgaon, India) and Jeannie Mee Blommel (Oregon, Wis.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An ethanol dehydration process is provided in which the steam to ethanol ratio is between about 1.0 to 2.0 wt/wt and preferably about 1.5 wt/wt. Steam can be imported from outside the dehydration process such as from an oligomerization or dimerization reaction."
The patent was filed on Aug. 28, 2023, under Application No. 18/457,222.
