ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 8 -- United States Patent no. 12,433,940, issued on Oct. 7, was assigned to UNM RAINFOREST INNOVATIONS (Albuquerque, N.M.).
"Silicified cell replicas, methods of making, and methods of using" was invented by Rita E. Serda (Albuquerque, N.M.), C. Jeffrey Brinker (Albuquerque, N.M.), Jacob Ongudi Agola (Albuquerque, N.M.), Jimin Guo (Albuquerque, N.M.) and Sarah Adams (Albuquerque, N.M.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A silicified cell replica includes a silicified cell or a silicified subcellular fragment. The silicified cell replica may be used to induce an immunological response, treat a bacterial infection, or treat a patient with cancer."
