ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,388,229, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to UNM Rainforest Innovations (Albuquerque, N.M.).

"Fiber laser with two counter-propagating, orthogonally polarized pulses for high precision metrology" was invented by Jean-Claude Diels (Albuquerque, N.M.) and Hanieh Afkhamiardakani (Albuquerque, N.M.).
