ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,371,440, issued on July 29, was assigned to University of Washington (Seattle).
"Organic electro-optic chromophores" was invented by Delwin Elder (Seattle), Lewis Johnson (Seattle), Bruce Robinson (Seattle) and Huajun Xu (Seattle).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Chromophores with large hyperpolarizabilities, films with electro-optic activity comprising the chromophores, and electro-optic devices comprising the chromophores are disclosed."
The patent was filed on April 21, 2023, under Application No. 18/304,764.
