ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 3 -- United States Patent no. 12,405,165, issued on Sept. 2, was assigned to University of Southern California (Los Angeles).
"Weyl semimetal integrated polarimeters and methods for making the same" was invented by Mercedeh Khajavikhan (Los Angeles) and Fugu Tian (Los Angeles).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Weyl semimetal-based polarimeters are disclosed that can uniquely map the polarization state of light on the Poincare sphere."
The patent was filed on Sept. 1, 2023, under Application No. 18/460,389.
