ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,458,704, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to University of Southern California (Los Angeles).

"Multimeric elastin-like polypeptides" was invented by John Andrew Mackay (Los Angeles), Mihir Shah (Los Angeles), Sarah F. Hamm-Alvarez (Los Angeles), Hao Guo (Los Angeles) and Santosh Peddi (Los Angeles).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "This disclosure provides a novel compositions and methods to deliver cyclosporine A using genetically engineered protein polymers."
