ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 4 -- United States Patent no. 12,319,709, issued on June 3, was assigned to University of Montana (Missoula, Mont.).

"Diaryl trehalose compounds and uses thereof" was invented by David Burkhart (Missoula, Mont.), George Ettenger (Missoula, Mont.), Jay Evans (Corvallis, Mont.), Kendal T. Ryter (Hamilton, Mont.) and Alyson Smith (Bonner, Mont.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed herein are diaryl trehalose compounds and methods of use thereof, for example as vaccine adjuvants."

The patent was filed on Feb. 9, 2024, under Application No. 18/437,424.
