ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,279,533, issued on April 15, was assigned to UNIVERSITY OF LIMERICK (Limerick, Ireland) and FUNDACION IMDEA MATERIALES (Madrid).

"Thermoelectric materials" was invented by Maurice Collins (Limerick, Ireland), Mario Culebras Rubio (Limerick, Ireland) and Juan Jose Vilatela (Madrid).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A thermoelectric material comprising carbon nanotubes and lignin. The carbon nanotubes are present as fibres and the lignin is present in pores and/or voids in the carbon nanotube fibres.
