ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,427,208, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to University of Cincinnati (Cincinnati) and Molecular Targeting Technologies Inc. (West Chester, Pa.).

"Iodinated phenolic lipids and methods and cosolvent systems for iodination of phenolic lipids" was invented by Xiaoyang Qi (Cincinnati), Koon Yan Pak (Malvern, Pa.) and Brian D. Gray (Malvern, Pa.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Compositions that include a phenol group conjugated to a lipid group to form a phenolic lipid.
