ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,226,475, issued on Feb. 18, was assigned to UNIVERSITAT ZURICH (Zurich, Switzerland).

"Treatment of insect bite hypersensitivity" was invented by Antonia Fettelschoss (Munchwilen, Switzerland) and Martin Bachmann (Ramismuhle, Switzerland).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to compositions, immunogenic or vaccine compositions and pharmaceutical compositions for the prevention or treatment of insect bite 5 hypersensitivity of equine mammals, preferably of horses. Furthermore, the invention provides methods for preventing or treating insect bite hypersensitivity of equine mammals, preferably of horses."
