ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,483,982, issued on Nov. 25, was assigned to Universal Electronics Inc. (Scottsdale, Ariz.).

"Wireless sensor transmission method and apparatus" was invented by Brandon Gruber (Carlsbad, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods and apparatus are described for transmitting messages by sensors in a system, such as a home security system. The messages are deemed received only when a sensor receives both an acknowledgement and a response from a central controller, and retransmissions occur when either an acknowledgement or a response is not received."
