US Patent Issued to Universal Display on Sept. 30 for "Organic electroluminescent materials and devices" (New Jersey, Pennsylvania Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,428,438, issued on Sept. 30, was assigned to Universal Display Corp. (Ewing, N.J.).

"Organic electroluminescent materials and devices" was invented by Lichang Zeng (Lawrenceville, N.J.), Zhiqiang Ji (Hillsborough, N.J.), Mingjuan T. Su (Ewing, N.J.), Edward Barron (Hamilton, N.J.) and Chun Lin (Yardley, Pa.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Metal complexes with cyclic ligands having Formula (I),are disclosed. Ligands with cyclic structure are believed to be beneficial to the rigidity and stability of the metal complexes, which is desirable for improving OLED device performance."
