ALEXANDRIA, Va., Jan. 13 -- United States Patent no. 12,522,625, issued on Jan. 13, was assigned to Universal Display Corp. (Ewing, N.J.).
"Organic electroluminescent materials and devices" was invented by Zhiqiang Ji (Chalfont, Pa.), Alexey Borisovich Dyatkin (Ambler, Pa.), Jui-Yi Tsai (Newtown, Pa.) and Pierre-Luc T. Boudreault (Pennington, N.J.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Cyclometalated iridium complexes having triphenylene or aza triphenylene and bulky alkyl substitution that can be used as emitters in OLEDs to improve the external quantum efficiency (EQE) and lifetime of OLEDs are disclosed."
The patent was filed on June 2, 2023, under Application No. 18/328,184.
