ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,234,249, issued on Feb. 25, was assigned to Universal Display Corp. (Ewing, N.J.).

"Organic electroluminescent materials and devices" was invented by Jui-Yi Tsai (Newtown, Pa.), Alexey Borisovich Dyatkin (Ambler, Pa.), Walter Yeager (Yardley, Pa.) and Pierre-Luc T. Boudreault (Pennington, N.J.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided are a compound comprising a ligand LA of Formula Ithat are useful as emitters in organic light emitting devices."

The patent was filed on July 25, 2020, under Application No. 16/938,948.
