ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,286,410, issued on April 29, was assigned to Universal Display Corp. (Ewing, N.J.).

"Organic electroluminescent materials and devices" was invented by Suman Layek (Pennington, N.J.), Hsiao-Fan Chen (Lawrence Township, N.J.) and Tyler Fleetham (Newtown, Pa.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided are carbazole-based host compounds containing a 9-membered ring represented by Formula Iwhere the variables are defined herein.
