ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 5 -- United States Patent no. 12,279,516, issued on April 15, was assigned to Universal Display Corp. (Ewing, N.J.).
"Organic electroluminescent materials and devices" was invented by Wei-Chun Shih (Lawrenceville, N.J.), Zhiqiang Ji (Chalfont, Pa.) and Pierre-Luc T. Boudreault (Pennington, N.J.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided are compounds of formula Ir(LA)2LC where: each ligand LA can be the same or different and has Formula I Also provided are formulations comprising these iridium complexes comprising pyridine-azole ligands. Further provided are OLEDs and related consumer products that utilize these iridium complexes comprising pyridine-azole ligands."
