ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,291,332, issued on May 6, was assigned to United Services Automobile Association (USAA) (San Antonio).
"Unmanned vehicle morphing" was invented by Kade Scott (The Colony, Texas), Snehal Desai (Richardson, Texas), Richard Daniel Graham (Plano, Texas) and Matthew Flachsbart (Grapevine, Texas).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Unmanned vehicles may be terrestrial, aerial, nautical, or multi-mode. Unmanned vehicles may accomplish tasks by breaking out into sub-drones, re-grouping itself, changing form, or re-orienting its sensors."
The patent was filed on Jan. 22, 2024, under Application No. 18/418,627.
