ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,546,332, issued on Feb. 10, was assigned to Undada Co. Ltd. (Bangmuang, Thailand).

"High-efficiency cooling fan impeller" was invented by Eduardo Strle (Mueang Nonthaburi, Thailand) and Vinicius Burigo Neto (Florianopolis, Brazil).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An impeller for use in HVAC-R fans includes a plurality of blades projecting radially from a hub. The Gaussian curvature of the pressure-side surface of the blade is substantially negative. In a preferred embodiment, the Gaussian curvature of the pressure-side surface is less than or equal to zero at all points on the surface."
