ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,545,805, issued on Feb. 10, was assigned to Umicore (Brussels).
"Manganese-bearing polymer complexes" was invented by Carl Vercaemst (Bruges, Belgium).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A composition for use as a drier in auto-oxidizable coatings or as an accelerator in unsaturated polyester resins comprises a manganese-bearing polymer having a manganese dicarboxylate repeating unit and at least one nitrogen-containing donor ligand. Such compositions offer excellent drying performances. They ensure a strongly reduced leachability of manganese compared to that of known manganese-bearing driers."
