ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 18 -- United States Patent no. 12,474,116, issued on Nov. 18, was assigned to Ultraosonic Technology Solutions (Knoxville, Tenn.).

"Vibrational drying system" was invented by Ayyoub Mehdizadeh Momen (Knoxville, Tenn.), Connor Jerric Shelander (Oak Ridge, Tenn.) and Jonathan S Bigelow (Knoxville, Tenn.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A dryer includes piezoelectric elements powered by oscillatory voltage. The unique piezoelectric elements are placed on the conveyor system or drums moving with the wet material. The oscillating voltage is uniquely connected to the moving piezoelectric elements. The vibration of the piezoelectric elements extracts liquid from the wet material ...
