ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,317,156, issued on May 27, was assigned to Tyco Fire & Security GmbH (Neuhausen am Rheinfall, Switzerland).
"System and method for tracking locations of students within school buildings" was invented by Miguel Galvez (Plaistow, N.H.), Walter A. Martin (Ballymena, Great Britain) and Danny Hyun (Irvine, Calif.).
