ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,305,304, issued on May 20, was assigned to Twelve Benefit Corp. (Berkeley, Calif.).

"Interface for carbon oxide electrolyzer bipolar membrane" was invented by Shuai Zhao (Santa Clara, Calif.) and Edward Izett (Berkeley, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided herein are membrane electrode assemblies (MEAs) for carbon oxide reduction. According to various embodiments, the MEAs are configured to address challenges particular to COx including mitigating the deleterious effects of electrical current fluctuations on the MEA. Bipolar membrane MEAs equipped with an interface composed of nanoparticles are described."
