ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,414,779, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to Treace Medical Concepts Inc. (Ponte Vedra, Fla.).

"Devices and techniques for performing an osteotomy procedure on a first metatarsal to correct a bone misalignment" was invented by Tyler Hissong (Jacksonville, Fla.), Joe W. Ferguson (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.) and Lowell Weil Jr. (Lake Forest, Ill.).
