ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,370,262, issued on July 29, was assigned to Translate Bio Inc. (Lexington, Mass.).
"Messenger RNA vaccines and uses thereof" was invented by Shrirang Karve (Lexington, Mass.), Zarna Patel (Lexington, Mass.), Ashish Sarode (Lexington, Mass.), Yi Zhang (Lexington, Mass.), Frank DeRosa (Lexington, Mass.) and Michael Heartlein (Lexington, Mass.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides, among other things, methods and compositions of formulating nucleic acid-containing nanoparticles for efficient delivery of payload in vivo such that the method and compositions can be used to generate mRNA vaccines."
