ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,420,524, issued on Sept. 23, was assigned to Transhield Inc. (Elkhart, Ind.).

"Protective covers and methods of manufacture and use" was invented by Seckin Ozol (South Bend, Ind.), Gregory L. Todt (Union, Mich.) and Na Qi (Granger, Ind.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A method of making a cover includes the steps of providing a heat shrinkable film constructed at least in part from a first styrenic block copolymer, providing a composite layer, providing an adhesive layer between the film and the composite layer, the adhesive layer including a second styrenic block copolymer selected from the same family as the first styrenic block copoly...
