ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,313,072, issued on May 27, was assigned to TRANE INTERNATIONAL INC. (Davidson, N.C.).

"Oil-free phase separating compressor" was invented by Masao Akei (La Crosse, Wis.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An oil-free compressor includes a compressor housing with a suction inlet and a discharge outlet, a compression mechanism and a liquid-vapor separation volume disposed within the compressor housing, a crankshaft. The compression mechanism has an inlet fluidly connected to the suction inlet and a discharge volume fluidly connected to the discharge outlet.
