"Apple tree named 'MAC12'" was invented by Andrew John Mackenzie (Hastings, New Zealand).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A new and distinct apple tree named 'MAC12' having fruit notable for its attractive radiant red appearance, crisp and refreshing texture, excellent storage and long shelf life."

The patent was filed on Dec. 12, 2024, under Application No. 18/979,152.
