ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,498,272, issued on Dec. 16, was assigned to Toyota Research Institute Inc. (Los Altos, Calif.) and Toyota Jidosha K.K. (Toyota, Japan).

"Deformable sensors having an internal stereo depth sensor and an infrared sensor" was invented by Andrew Beaulieu (Somerville, Mass.), Naveen Suresh Kuppuswamy (Arlington, Mass.) and Jessica Yin (Philadelphia).
