ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 28 -- United States Patent no. 12,447,858, issued on Oct. 21, was assigned to TOYOTA JIDOSHA K.K. (Aichi-Ken, Japan).

"Battery charge management device" was invented by Taiki Nakamura (Kariya, Japan) and Shinya Hirosawa (Nisshin, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The charge information includes at least one of an estimated increase amount of a charge level of the battery, an estimated charge level of the battery after charging, and a travelable distance of the vehicle corresponding to the estimated charge level."
