ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,545,432, issued on Feb. 10, was assigned to TOYOTA JIDOSHA K.K. (Toyota, Japan).

"Method for connecting tether" was invented by Eiji Itakura (Gotemba, Japan), Yushi Seki (Ashigarakami-gun, Japan), Taro Tsukada (Sunto-gun, Japan), Akihiro Honda (Gotemba, Japan) and Aya Hamajima (Sunto-gun, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure relates to a method for connecting a tether for anchoring a kite. The method for connecting a tether includes, while the kite is flying, separably connecting another tether different from one tether to the other end of the one tether whose one end is connected to the kite."
