ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,552,398, issued on Feb. 17, was assigned to TOYOTA JIDOSHA K.K. (Toyota, Japan) and Nomura Research Institute Ltd. (Tokyo).

"Failure notification system" was invented by Yoshihiro Oe (Nagoya, Japan), Wataru Minoura (Nagoya, Japan), Masatoshi Hayashi (Nisshin, Japan), Yutaro Imamura (Nagoya, Japan), Fumihiro Nasu (Nagoya, Japan), Yuki Tatsumoto (Seto, Japan) and Takehiko Hashimoto (Tokyo).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A failure notification system mounted on a vehicle includes an imaging device, a processing device, and a transmission device. The processing device acquires video data of a preceding vehicle captured by the imaging device. ...
