ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,298,547, issued on May 13, was assigned to TOYOBO Co. LTD. (Osaka, Japan).

"Foldable display" was invented by Shotaro Nishio (Tsuruga, Japan), Kiwamu Kawai (Tsuruga, Japan) and Akira Shimizu (Tsuruga, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided is a foldable display excellent in mass productivity, and free of a risk of causing distortion in an image displayed at a folding portion thereof after being repeatedly folded.
