US Patent Issued to TOYOBO on March 25 for "Laser-printable film and packaging in which same is used" (Japanese Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,257,811, issued on March 25, was assigned to TOYOBO Co. LTD. (Osaka, Japan).

"Laser-printable film and packaging in which same is used" was invented by Shintaro Ishimaru (Fukui, Japan) and Masayuki Haruta (Fukui, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A polyolefin-based film comprising at least one layer permitting printing as a result of laser irradiation; wherein not less than 100 ppm but not greater than 3000 ppm of pigment permitting printing as a result of laser irradiation is present in all layers of the film; haze thereof is not less than 1% but not greater than 30%; and unevenness in thickness thereof in either a machine direction...
